The Y.O.U.T.H. Friendship Foundation, Inc.
Investing in Our Youth Today and Tomorrow. As stated by America's Promise: The Alliance for Youth, "We must work together to ensure ALL children have five essential resources: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education, and opportunities to help others. There is no sweeter gift that life can bring than helping our youth achieves their dreams. Today, more than ever our children need a community of support. Therefore, our strategy can be described by two simple but powerful words: TEAMWORK and PARTNERSHIP. We believe partnerships with government, nonprofits, business, and communities working together will ensure that all children in Madison and Limestone Counties are on the path to accomplish their dreams.
This is about our youth, our future, our needs, our opportunities, our dreams, the American dream as eloquently delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. forty-three years ago. The economic value of an effective and continued education is well documented. Of course, earning power is not the only benefit. Education also increases opportunity and the ability to chart your own future. Not only does this improve their own lives, but provides a positive role model for the next generation. Education doesn’t only occur in schools, either. Community educational resources, from the variety nonprofit museums, arts, Early Works, Sci-Quest, U.S. Space and Rocket Center and other institutions are important parts of our community’s educational system.
The gain is some measure of wisdom and experience that can serve our Y.O.U.T.H. the rest of their life. Instill in our children a sense of confidence in our community’s future and their ability to affect that future so that they’ll take the risks necessary to become successful. Give them the confidence to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.
